PASALOVE...

After weeks of its first airing… I watched GMA’s Station ID hoping that it would somehow match ABS-CBN’s and over all it was not bad neither disappointing but it was not what I’m hoping for.

First let me just say that the video was touching and the soundtrack was moving… and that’s it. The station ID failed to capture or even surpass their previous station ID. Well to clarify my point, I was expecting to see GMA artist and I watched it trice and I failed to notice one. So let me focus on the video itself and not on its impact.

The video was touching, editing was perfect very Kapuso as they say but gone are the days where they captivate our hearts so I just called it “Ka-touching” (in other words nakaka touch). I can’t help but compare it with their rival network and I can’t ignore the fact that they have several similarities such as the opening. Let me start from there… opening was great a kid in need will almost get every couch potato in the nation but as the music goes on it’s just the same. They even revised a commercial before of a boy giving away his rubber shoes when he saw a sampaguita vendor (I think I saw it in ABS) this time it was a girl walking pass a woman and her child using newspaper as blanket giving away her new red shawl or jacket. Some of us would say AWWW but once you switched channel that scene will be forgotten almost immediately.

Talking about impact, we all know that after the Ondoy tragedy Artist were very much engaged in everything from politics to social service and I didn’t see that on the PASALOVE video. I was expecting more and maybe that’s why I am asking for more. I tried to focus on the message but I can’t help it maybe I am just like the rest, I want big stars… I want to feel that they are the same…  I like to feel that they feel the same way that I do. I guess that’s the problem with the video… it never captured our hearts… So much for the KAPUSO’s the KAPAMILYA’s won this time.

Just my two cents.
