The color of Christmas...
Gone are the days where Christmas is infused with so much red and green… some odd colors invaded the holiday season such as orange, blue and even black. Now it makes me wonder… I’m going to tackle this commentary as simple as possible. I will discuss it in an angle where symbols and meanings are nuisance –well I’m no dan brown- and just discuss it the way I feel like it.
So let’s start, the basic color RED, this is the most famous color of Christmas. The red trimmings, red ribbons, red ornaments and the red poinsettia… and 3 years ago I tried to do my decorations the nontraditional way (I wish I have pictures) I started with a life size angel instead of a tree decorated with blue flowers and silver trimmings. It feels serene but sad… so the following year I used red to make amends with the blue Christmas we had the previous year…but once I decorated our tree with red and gold the rebel in me decided to add a few orange a few metallic colored balls and ribbons that once touched by lights sparkled with the most intensifying silver-ish bluish glow. And this year I’m wondering why… what’s with the color anyway?
Traditional or nontraditional the color of your chosen theme sets the mood in your house like a can of paint changes the mood in our rooms. When I use red (lots of red) I feel festive maybe because I was programmed that way… when I add a few dash of blue it makes my mood a little subtle and light… when I add a few orange it adds the feeling of the past of how trials makes me stronger and wiser and bad times became the color of rust. And when I add a few more green it evens out everything, almost balancing it in a way where bad and good are at peace.

So what’s your Christmas color? May it be red, green or gold… in a few weeks it’s going to be over… So let’s just have a MERRY CHRISTMAS and hope for a better NEW YEAR ahead of us.
