LEGO

I remember my first expensive toy... it was a big Lego boat.

When I was a little boy, I like to draw and build things... I have hours and hours of fun just by creating something out of my pieces of papers.

When mom introduced Lego to me... I was fascinated by it... small blocks created an arch... a car, or even a helicopter... you can build anything just as long as you have a broad imagination.

Growing up... I outgrew my fascination with Lego, I feel like my imagination was limited to a small block of many colors... then I stopped asking for it.

This year, while searching for a gift for my nephew... looking around the toy store I couldn't find anything that he would like. I already spoiled him with toys that I even bought him a kitchen set before when I ran out of ideas. I was about to leave the store when I saw Lego... is he ready for this... I'm not afraid if he will lose some of the parts and I wasted money on a toy... my main concern is... if he opens this... will I see a smile.

My nephew is very vocal with what he wants he is asking for another big pellet gun... (my dad's staple gift) so how would Lego compare with what he initially asked for...

I walked around the store and tried looking for a more suitable gift when I couldn't find any I decided on buying Lego. While I was picking one from the small cars... I felt a sudden urge to open the box and play with it right now... "like I was a child again, asking Mom to buy me a bigger set". I was thinking... if my nephew didn't like it well I will play with it so I left the small boxes of Lego and went to the medium size boxes... at least I will get to enjoy building it with him and if he lost some of the pieces he could build more with more blocks right... hehe

So... did my nephew enjoyed his gift... well I did. I asked him to open it early since I need to go to work and I wanted to build the Lego train with him... and we did. At first he wasn't that excited looking at the blocks but when we finally created something out of this set of blocks... I saw the smile I was aiming for...

Here's my nephew... amazed.
