Our Chong
We call him chong or tsong... but hes our lolo. There are a lot of fond memories we have of chong... and below are a few that made a mark for me.
He used to run a sari sari store before when i was a todler... when i started preschool and nursery i used to go down and ask him for marie the biskwit.
Every new year he makes his famous karekare and suman. The suman is the best and he still makes it yearly even if hes old na.
Chong used to bring me to school on his sidecar... an open pandyak that he used to deliver things. Before chong is never seen without his bicycle.
Funny comiks... this is his pasalubong for me
Nissins noodles... chicken flavor... during hard times he brings us nissins chicken flavor our favorite.
Chong loves dogs... well my tito and mom too so we grew up with 5 to 7 dogs... most of them named browny.
When we transffered to our current place now... a few blocks away from my moms family compound... chong is our constant visitor almost every week.
During the darkest and bleakest moment in our lives chong was there for us... he loves us the way he loves my mom and uncle... he cared for us in the generously... for chong helping is easy... he is generous... and giving... he is simple...ask any of my cousins and its going to be the same.
Maybe thats where i got my urge to be simple sometimes... im sure i didnt get that from my mom or dad hahahha.
Chong is our go to person...not for any material or financial thing... because what chong can give is greater than any monetary amount... he do simple things that leaves a big impact to us... im sure my siblings and cousins will agree with me... maybe thats why on your last day chong... we are all here for you.
I know you are watching us from heaven chong... till we meet again... rest well.
