Opposite of love...
Last sunday I attended Mass with Cucci... and the sermons about giving!!! the priest asked the church goer about the opposite of love and I answered in my mind... Its hate. But I was wrong ... dead wrong...
later on I realized the answer... (actually the priest told us the answer) love's opposite is selfishness.
How can you love if you are selfish? how can you receive love if you haven't given any? how can you feel love for others if you don't feel love in yourself?
when we talk about love... we often thought that its opposite is hate... I had the same mistake. if we feel hate we first feel selfish we want to do things our way we want to have things the way we want it... that's the time that we feel hate when somebody who loves us try to take things away or wants to be a part of our thing... that's the time that we thought that hate is the exact opposite of love!!! and I don't want that and I guess you don't want that either...
As I listened... I was thinking... If we give love and someone else listened and followed the sermon... I am bound to received love too... love received may not be given by the person who you're with right now... or the person or people that is close to you on that particular moment but soon if we share the love in us we will received the love that we deserve...
It goes around in circles, I guess... God always taught us to give and not expect something in return... the next person beside me will also do the same and will not expect something from me in return the next person beside that person will do exactly the same thing all three person will get what they deserved... Funny but actually true... we expect love from our family friends and partners and if we didn't received any we felt bad we tend to be selfish but in reality somebody else someone around there is willing to give you something in return...
I experienced that when i was sick... I almost gave up on work... but when I came back I received the most wonderful gift of all... all this while I thought that has always been me... that i am exposed and nobody taking care of me when I'm at work... but a friend actually 14 friends showed me that what have ive been doing for the past 4 yrs are very well appreciated. they gave me something that I didn't expect... they have given me Love... passion and it saves me it nourishes me to start all over again.
It felt good... too good to be true... I was selfish back then but i was sorry but i will be lying if i said that I regret everything that happened before. I found love now... because I thrown the selfish side of me outside the window... i found love thru my friends ,my family, my peers, and my partner... and they found love in me!!!
Love and don't expect anything in return... love comes back unexpected just don't be selfish... God's eternal gift is love so share it and someone... somebody will share his love to you!!!
take it from me... an avid fan of love!!! who got love in return...
