January, a new day begins ( part 2 )

The day after… Operation day. Another day of thank you’s. today was the day that we need to decide to operate on mom… the only time that we have coz every minute that passes by her tantrums due to extreme headache (we just guessed – the doctors said that too) is not tolerable anymore… we cant tolerate it seeing moms face trying to remove everything – the needles, the oxygen mask and all the stuff connected to her – just to ease the pain.

Another day of thank you’s… for the strength… the courage to face all of it… for Family and friends praying over my mom… for the doctors who stayed till the wee hours of the morning to perform the operation (we were informed that we need the operation around 12 pm Jan 26 and mom was prepped for it till 8:00 pm once we had the go signal from the doctors that’s the only time that they really have to document our decision. So the actual operation started around 11:00 pm since they need to let the sedatives work before they can operate on her) he stayed there for 12 hours for my mom… Thank you.

Pre operation, we were all hysterical… everyone trying to cheat time…. We all wanted that day to last but at the same time we wanted to make sure mom is ok. Everything is “magulo” but at the end of it… everything works out well… Thank you.

Post operation, we were told that the operation will last for 2 to 4 hours… it might be longer if there will be complications along the way… mom finished her operation in 2 hours and 10 mins… so we are all guessing that it went smooth… Doctors can’t really tell us at this point since they operated on her brain. So they only way they could find out if anything was affected because of that operation is when she woke up after 24 to 48 hours… for making sure that there are no complications… Thank you!!!

Overall it was tiring… awake for 34 hours all of us were able to catch sleep after my moms operation and that is the best sleep I had in my entire life… knowing that everyone is safe.
