Coron... June 09
Our trip to Coron was initially planned when I was in Bohol twa's around april first week... We couldn't plan it much earlier since we are currently on vacation back then.mid april we booked the tickets via cebupac online booking and we just went on our daily duties... as the days goes by... every site mentions a lot about coron... its summer and it surely hype ned up our excitement as june approaches.
I personally took over the trips arrangements since its Cucci's first time to go with us,and I like it to be perfect... I know it would be perfect so here's our Coron Story...
Initially Abi planned to stay at the Kokonuss resort a mountain resort near coron town... at first i don't have any hesitations but when I checked and emailed Kokosnuss I learned a lot about coron. Coron town doesn't have any beaches its Coron island that is famous for it.kokosnuss are wiling to handle transfers to and from their resort of course with a fee and it got me thinking.if we are going to spend an amount of money just for transportation alone it will bankrupt us at the end of our 5 day trip. So i looked for a lodge that is near or with in Coron town and I found a few... Patriks Inn is perfect affordable, free wifi and its location is perfect. in the center of coron town. We didn't booked here since according to patrik the lodge is booked on the dates of our arrival and when I mentioned to Dothy that the the inn has a Common Cr she said no... i guess its a good thing since my heart is with Patrik lodge already I don't know whether to break dothy's heart and let her whine during our stay or cancel if there are rooms available. next choice is Amphibiko... I considered the place since a friend of mine stayed at amphibiko and it has affordable rates and free wifi too... but patrik's inn is way cheaper so I looked for more... I found coron village inn,Darayonan Inn and a lot more... But I found SEADIVE RESORT... at first I prefer AC rooms but when I talked to patrik and visited his site I guess fan rooms are ok but when I checked Seadive's site... they have affordable AC rooms which is just within the price range of Patrik's inn... Free WIFI, Hot and cold private bathrooms,AC rooms, free Coffee and mineral water, queen size bed and its located along the bay... what more can i look for and expect... I booked it right away actually I booked it around first week of may just to make sure that accommodation's for our trip will be worry free.

a few weeks before our trip... I contacted Seadive to confirm our bookings and to ask them for airport transfer... but the lady i spoke with over the phone is asking for a 50% deposit right away but I remember when I booked the rooms i spoke with the son of the manager /owner and he doesn't ask for deposit coz I asked him right away just in case i need to prepare for one and this conversation is a little over a month ago. So I emailed him right away and confirmed our booking thru him instead. Even with the confirmation email I received thru the owner I still looked for another option since Dothy will be the first one to arrive at Coron alone... if there will be any problems with seadive I have another option which is Sandoval lodge I verified that its available on those days I didn't booked any rooms but just the idea of available rooms comforted me. Although I didn't mention this to Dothy I know I will be around to accept her calls. Just in case hahahahahaha her arrival time at seadive is around 12 noon and by then I will be at the airport waiting for our flight at 1 pm.
So with the accommodation's all taken care off... I focused my free time with our activities... where to eat to drink and to where to GO...
its a 5 days 4 nights vacation for us... well for the majority Abi will follow on the 3rd day. so we have 2 free days on our hands... we cant go on Island hoping right away even on the third day since island hopping always starts at 8:00 am and she will arrive at seadive around 11:00 am. Owen from DIYCORON offered me a 1 1/2 day tour which will start on the day Abi arrives but i didn't confirmed it since Abi might be tired from work and from her plane ride... so I confirmed a one day FULL CORON ISLAND TOUR on our 4th day. Luckily Owen offers Airport transfers as well so I provided him our arrival date and time so he could arrange it.
With one day tour done and airport transfers ok... Our Coron Adventure is almost perfect.
Owen's site http://diycoron.wordpress.com for more details about his arrangements and tours... I very much encourage you to ask him for coron tours.
with almost three days free time... Dothy Arien Cucci and I spent most of our time at the town,
On the first day Dothy spent most of her time alone reflecting... look at her blog dated june 25th since she arrived 3 hours ahead of Us. we arrived after lunch actually around 4 pm just in time for a quick town tour and early dinner. we dinned at Seadive on our first day... quite expensive if you know that the town is just 91 meters away from seadive and there are a lot of TURO TURO who offers home cooked filipino dishes. But looking at the bright side of the story seadive offers a meal for 200 pesos which is good for 1 which is not that bad after all.
day 2 one full free day. after having breakfast at one of the towns breakfast place we decided to have a mountain tour without abi and go biking in the afternoon. the mountain tour went well we hiked mt tapyas (719 steps) and took some wonderful photos.after the hike we went back to seadive to refresh ourselves and to roam around the town. I was planning to have dinner at Bistro coron which is unfortunately close till July 4 so we need to look for another place to dine and we found one... Kamayanan grill... the type of food which we always prefer when we dine out... INIHAW. We also had time to have night caps at Coron Village lodge with Malou, a fellow TM form my company and Dothy's previous Tm when we are still working together
Day 3 Abi's arrival date... since i booked the Island tour for Day 4 we have the full afternoon free... after our nightcap with malou we opted to stay late at night and take advantage of the free wife and coffee at the resort we woke up just in time for Abi's arrival and when she arrives we ask Seadive for an available boat for a halfday island tour... we wanted to go to the beaches na di kasama sa tour ni owen like atuwayan beach and take advantage of the warm sun... we figured sa tour we might not enjoy the beach kung limited time lang kaya we decided to have a halfday island tour for swimming.after that we went to Makinit hot springs since its not included in owen's tour as well
Day 4 our original Coron island Tour (refer to my pictures) this is an all day event
day 5 off to the airport...
that concludes our coron story but within each story every destination there's another story. overall I know it would be perfect not because I planned it to be perfect its perfect coz I got a chance to spend five days with my friends and cucci.
That's life...till next time we might go back there but this time only cucci and me to celebrate... you never know
